Alchemy Purchases Solana Development Firm DexterLab for an Unspecified Amount
Blockchain development platform Alchemy has announced its acquisition of DexterLab, a developer specializing in Solana, the financial details of which remain undisclosed.
This strategic move is designed to expedite the growth of Web3 applications on the Solana blockchain, addressing the rising demand from enterprises, as detailed in Alchemy’s recent press release.
DexterLab has previously supported development efforts for prominent clients like Google and the Solana Foundation, positioning itself as a key infrastructure provider in the Solana ecosystem, as stated by Alchemy.
By incorporating DexterLab, Alchemy aims to unify the development experience across both Solana and Ethereum, which should streamline processes for projects operating across different blockchain networks.
This acquisition appears to be a response to Solana’s growing status as a preferred blockchain for various applications, indicating that Alchemy is keen to leverage this trend.
Despite Ethereum still leading in total value locked, Solana is experiencing growth in other areas. Recent figures show that active addresses on Solana surpassed 210 million in three months, while Ethereum—including its Layer-2 solutions—had just under 80 million. Additionally, Solana has led in transaction volume, with around 4.75 billion transactions compared to Ethereum’s 1 billion.
