SMLR Increases Balance Sheet by 455 BTC
Medical device firm Semler Scientific (SMLR) has made a significant bitcoin acquisition, marking its third largest since embracing a bitcoin standard nearly a year ago. In the ten days leading up to May 22, the company purchased 455 BTC for a total of $50 million, averaging $109,801 per bitcoin. This buy was facilitated through its at-the-market (ATM) equity offering program, raising Semler’s total bitcoin reserves to 4,264 BTC, which were obtained at a cost of $390 million and are now worth over $450 million.
Thus far, Semler has issued 3,003,488 shares as part of its $500 million ATM program initiated on April 15, amassing $114.8 million in capital. A key performance measure increasingly utilized by businesses integrating bitcoin into their financial statements, Semler’s BTC Yield has surged to 25.8% in 2025. This figure tracks the year-to-date percentage variation in the relationship between total bitcoin assets and the anticipated diluted shares outstanding.
In premarket trading, SMLR shares have declined by 5.3% alongside a notable drop in bitcoin prices, which fell to $108,300 on Friday morning.
